Covid-19 update: We are monitoring the virus situation very closely and staying in contact with TAC. Our plan at the moment is to continue with the workshop because it's only a small gathering of people. If anything changes we will likely re-schedule when the dust settles. We will be in touch, if this happens to discuss new dates and will offer refunds for those that can't make the new date.
Hosted by: Textile Arts Center: Project Space | Brooklyn, NY
Location: 505 Carroll St, Brooklyn NY , 11215
Dates: March 28th, 29th. (2 classes available)
Time: 10am - 4pm
Cost: $250, includes all supplies and a small frame you can take home.
Class limit: 20 people each day
Participants will be introduced to using power tufting machines to create rugs by hand. During the 6-hour class, we'll cover the basics of setting up the backing cloth and frame, threading and working the tufting machines. You'll begin creating your own rug or pillow design that is 22" x 22". You will also learn how to cut, glue, and finish a rug for use on the floor or as a wall hanging.
The tufting frame, cloth and yarn are included in the cost of the workshop. Additional supplies and the tufting machine will be available for purchase at a discounted price. You keep the frame at the end of the class.
I'll provide tufting machines to used during the workshop so you don't need one to take the class. I will also offer discounts for participants on machines and supplies after the class.
